Fourteen years have brought us countless shared experiences, burgers, craft beers and unforgettable nights. Now it’s time to begin a new chapter in the Kandalló story!
From mid-October, you’ll find us at our new location at 48 Kazinczy Street, right next to Moxy Budapest Downtown.
The new Kandalló will be bigger and refreshed in many ways, while keeping everything that has brought you back to us time and time again over the years.
What will the new Kandalló be like?
In short: a true urban pub.
Our new home will be twice the size of the current one, with two terraces and an open kitchen. More space, more possibilities and even more events worth getting together for, whether it’s a night out or a weekend catch-up.
We worked on the new venue together with Forestay Group, one of Budapest’s leading real estate investment and development companies, as well as the URBA architecture studio and Kremmer Branding & Design.
Over the past 14 years, we’ve built the Kandalló brand together. Now we’ve finally created the place around it that we’ve always imagined: a bigger, more colourful urban pub that’s buzzing all day long, where the atmosphere of the old Kandalló meets an exciting new selection.

One thing definitely isn’t changing: the Kandalló vibe
Moving always brings change, but it’s just as important to us to keep everything that has made Kandalló such a special place.
The award-winning burgers, craft beer selection and our friendly, one-of-a-kind atmosphere are all here to stay.
And at the same time, plenty of our new ideas are finally becoming a reality!
Naturally, the menu is getting an update too.
One of the biggest additions will be a premium smashed burger made with aged beef. It combines techniques from some of the world’s best burger joints with our own experiences gained in the past 14 years.
A more international selection
The food and drink selection at the new Kandalló will have a more international flavour.
We’re bringing in Korean Fried Chicken, BBQ and a range of sharing plates that the whole table can enjoy together. Alongside our usual craft beers, you’ll also find international brands on the drinks menu, as well as a brand-new lineup of bold signature cocktails.
And that’s still not everything.
Vegan, gluten-free and alcohol-free options
We want everyone to be able to find a new favourite at the new Kandalló.
That’s why our updated menu will also include vegan, gluten-free and alcohol-free options.
The goal remains the same: no one should have to miss out on the Kandalló experience.
We’re creating the Party District’s new meeting place
We don’t want the new Kandalló to be simply a bigger pub. We want it to become the Party District’s new meeting place: a social space where something is happening all day long and where there’s always a good reason to drop by.
Weekend brunches, afternoon chill sessions, after-work beers, evening cocktails, tastings, live music and themed parties… all of this will be waiting for you at the new Kandalló.
But first, let’s have one last party on Kertész Street!
As excited as we are about the move, we don’t want to say a quiet goodbye to Kandalló’s Kertész Street home.
